Meet Amanda Valvano, Therapist in Montreal & Virtually Accross Canada

I’m Amanda — a Canadian Certified Counsellor based in Montreal. I work with men and professionals who are feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in survival mode. My approach is real, compassionate, and collaborative.

Whether you’re navigating burnout, anxiety, or relationship stress, I offer therapy that helps you feel seen and supported — without the pressure to have it all figured out.

I provide both in-person counselling in downtown Montreal and online therapy across Canada.

Ready to feel more grounded and in control? Let’s talk.

Feeling stuck is ok.

Feeling stuck is ok.

People often come to me when they’re feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to cope with everything on their plate. These are some of the things we can work through together:

What Brings People to Therapy With Me

  • Anxiety, stress, and overthinking

  • Burnout and work pressure (especially for professionals)

  • Low self-esteem and self-doubt

  • Emotional regulation and anger

  • Relationship challenges and communication

  • Men’s mental health and emotional shutdown

  • Life transitions, identity shifts, and feeling stuck

  • Boundaries, people-pleasing, and perfectionism

What to Expect in Your First Therapy Session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step — especially if you’re not sure what to expect. Whether you're meeting me in person at my Montreal office or online from the comfort of home, our first session is all about getting to know each other.

We’ll talk about what’s been going on, what’s feeling hard, and what brought you here. There’s no pressure to have the “perfect” way to explain things — you can come as you are. I’ll ask a few questions to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and make space for you to speak openly, at your pace.

Think of it as a starting point, not a test. We’ll explore whether therapy feels like a good fit and what you'd like to get out of it. I may share some insights or tools you can try right away, but mostly, it’s about building trust and seeing how we can work together.

I work with men, professionals, and adults navigating anxiety, stress, burnout, relationship challenges, and big life changes. Sessions are 60 minutes, and you’re welcome to ask as many questions as you’d like.

Still unsure? That’s completely normal. Reach out to book a free consult and we’ll walk through it together.
